Black Sabbath

Black Sabbath Paranoid Rock Music CD Review
Executive Summary by Clyde Lee Denis

The exceptionally talented Rock group Black Sabbath have released their CD entitled Paranoid. Paranoid literally grabs your attention right from the very first note with War Pigs / Luke’s Wall and doesn't let go until the very last note of the very last song Jack The Stripper / Fairies Wear Boots, which is another great track by the way.
Paranoid has a pleasantly varied, mix of 8 tracks that are very well written and brilliantly performed songs by these clearly superb musicians. Overall Paranoid is an outstanding release. Quite possibly Black Sabbath's best to date. If you're even mildly into Rock music you'll enjoy this album.

While the entire album is really very good some of my favorites are track 3 - Planet Caravan, track 6 - Hand Of Doom, and track 8 - Jack The Stripper / Fairies Wear Boots. My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 1 - War Pigs / Luke’s Wall. This is a great track!

Led Zeppelin

Led Zeppelin is the #1 Rock and Roll Band of All Time
Executive Summary By Peter Cross

I've been in rock and roll all my life and I believe that Jimmy is the most brilliantly prolific of all the great rock and roll guitarists. As a songwriter, Jimmy used his superior ability to play lead guitar to create actual song structure. Jimmy's riffs differ from each other within each song, and also from song to song.

The intricate way in which he wove his bass guitar playing into, through, and underneath Jimmy's guitar playing is nothing short of perfection itself. CREATIVE SONGWRITING Hardly anybody has ever covered Led Zep songs for very good reasons. The Beatles certainly deserve abject worship for John and Paul's creative songwriting ability, no question about that.

I'm talking about 9 Led Zep albums chock full of brilliant and intensely high songs - I don't know how many hours of great rock and roll listening that is. STAGE PRESENCE Led Zep was there when the concept of "rock and roll star" was still evolving.

There will never be another rock and roll band to approach the stratospheric musical heights that Led Zep reached.

DEEP PURPLE

"Machine Head" - Deep Purple
Executive Summary By Enrico Monsanto

The album kicks off with the fast-paced "Highway Star". One of their most recognizable songs, it boasts of complicated guitar and organ solos by Ritchie Blackmore and Jon Lord, respectively. Like most of the songs in this release, both tracks have more that its share of fretboard brilliance by Blackmore and keyboard fireworks by Lord. Compared to any lesser rock songs, this is defintely topnotch. The last three songs closes the "Machine Head" experience with a loud bang. "Smoke on the Water" doesn't need any introduction anymore. The next song "Lazy" sounds like a jam to me.

Release: 1972
Tracks listing: 1. Highway Star; 2. Maybe I'm A Leo; 3. Pictures Of Home; 4. Never Before; 5. Smoke On The Water; 6. Lazy; 7. Space Truckin'

Band members: Ian Gillan - vocals, harmonica; Ritchie Blackmore - lead guitar; Jon Lord - piano, organ, keyboards; Roger Glove - bass guitar; Ian Paice - drums

Rock Music

Rock Music Has Many Genres
Executive Summary about Rock Music By Kati Makat

Rock music was subsequently mixed with many other elements of music to give their own touch to rock music. So in 1970s jazz was blended with rock to create jazz rock music, and then it was blended with folk music resulting in folk rock and later Latin, soul and funk music also had its influences on rock music at times. Today we have different categories under rock music and some of the popular ones are heavy metal rock, progressive rock, blues rock, soft rock, punk rock and techno rock among others.

In the 1980’s and 1990’s many new additional genres of rock music such as Brit pop rock, Indie rock, alternative rock, hard rock and grunge style rock were introduced. The kind of rock music that Pink Floyd was sang was known as psychedelic rock. The folk scene combined with rock gave the new term folk rock. Music be it of any kind rock music, house music, gospel music, folk music or country music each has its own touch and of course its own group of loyal followers.

The Unsung Greats of Classic Rock
Executive Summary about Rock Music By Matthew Kepnes

No matter what era you were born in since the 70's almost ANY band you listen to would have been influenced by artists and bands from this era. The seventies was a great era for music because it truly was a ground breaking time for original music. Jimmy Page etc but there are other extremely talented and influential guitarists who are less well known that should be in the legend status as well. Deep purple: Guitarist: Richie Blackmore: Choice albums: Made in Japan and Deep Purple in Rock, Songs: Highway Star, Child in Time.
